Sulaiman Alrajhi University, represented by the Social Responsibility Administration, organised a ceremony on the occasion of World Social Responsibility Day under the patronage of the University President, Dr. Muhammad A. Al-Mohaimeed, and attended by University staff, students and partner entities and associations, affirming the University's role in developing the community and contributing to sustainable development.

In his address during the ceremony, the Director of the University's Social Responsibility Administration said that educational institutions are no longer concerned solely with providing knowledge, but have become a fundamental pillar in building people and enhancing quality of life through distinctive initiatives and programmes that address the community's needs and help empower its members, proceeding from the belief that the University is an integral part of the community, growing as it grows and flourishing as it flourishes.

He reviewed some of the University's achievements and initiatives in the field of social responsibility, noting that the impact achieved would not have been possible without the combined efforts and spirit of joint work across its various sectors, including colleges, directorates and units, with the active participation of its staff and students, who worked as one team to convey the University's message and serve the community in a range of fields.

The ceremony included a video presentation reviewing the University's efforts to turn social responsibility from a theoretical concept into practical programmes and field initiatives, in addition to a further presentation highlighting the efforts of volunteers and their humanitarian contributions in serving members of the community.

At the close of the ceremony, the University President honoured the participating entities and associations in appreciation of their active role in implementing the University's initiatives and programmes. Those honoured were: the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the National Diabetes Association, Wahat Al-Wafa Association for Supporting the Elderly, the Friends of Blood Banks Charitable Association, the Al-Salihiyah National Association in Unaizah, the Al-Mus'if Volunteer Association, and the National Association for Business Growth and Development.
