His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Prince of Al-Qassim Region, patronised the graduation ceremony of the twelfth cohort of Sulaiman Alrajhi University students on the evening of Wednesday 5 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH, held in the University's conference hall in Albukairyah in the presence of a number of officials and parents. The ceremony marked the graduation of 273 students in medicine and surgery, nursing, medical laboratories and business at the bachelor's and master's levels.
The ceremony opened with the Royal Anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, after which the graduates' procession began amid a celebratory atmosphere marked by feelings of pride among families and attendees on the occasion of their sons' and daughters' graduation.
In his address at the ceremony, His Highness the Prince of Al-Qassim Region congratulated the University's graduates, stating that this cohort is an elite cohort distinguished by its pursuit of modern sciences. He prayed that God grant them success in the next stage of their journey in the service of their religion, their King and their country, and that He bless the Board of Trustees and the Supervisory Board of the Sheikh Sulaiman Alrajhi Endowment, so that the University remains a beacon of knowledge, a source of pride and a leader at the highest level.
His Highness noted that Sulaiman Alrajhi University is a national source of pride, with a long-term vision to be a distinguished university in medicine and health sciences, and that it offers a distinctive model in preparing qualified professionals for the labour market and enhancing quality of life.
His Highness recalled the contributions of Sheikh Sulaiman A. Alrajhi in supporting knowledge and education, and underlined the importance of the health specialties as a fundamental pillar for serving the community and building a sustainable development future.
The ceremony included a video presentation entitled “A Trace of Light”, which reviewed the University's journey and its educational achievements and its role in preparing qualified professionals to contribute to the development journey and to serve the country, in addition to a review of the leading success stories of graduates from other countries.
In the graduates' address, delivered by graduate Osama Khalid Al-Harthi, he said: “Years have passed with their diligence and effort, during which our University was the incubator of our dreams and the guide of our steps. Today we are the fruit planted by our father Sheikh Sulaiman Alrajhi through his generosity, and tended by our leaders through their support, until we have today become strong hands ready to serve this great country.”
The Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdulaziz I. Alrajhi, delivered the University's address, in which he stated that the presence of His Highness the Prince of Al-Qassim Region at the graduation ceremony of the twelfth cohort is a badge of honour that the University takes pride in, and support that reflects the great attention given by the wise leadership – may God support it – to the education sector, which is one of the most important targets of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
He explained that this attention embodies the words of the founding endower, Sheikh Sulaiman A. Alrajhi, that “investing in human minds is a principal requirement in this age, and that human capital is the real capital on which all nations place their bets”.
He noted that, since its establishment, the University has been built on a clear vision of preparing a generation that is academically capable, professionally qualified and grounded in values, able to contribute effectively to the service of its religion, country and community. He explained that this vision has been translated into reality through distinctive academic programmes, strategic partnerships and a stimulating educational environment.
Addressing the graduates, he said that their graduation today is not the end of the road but the beginning of a new stage of giving and responsibility, stressing that they are ambassadors of the University and a reflection of the knowledge and values it has instilled in them, and calling on them to continue their journey with determination and persistence and to contribute to building the country and serving the community.
Concluding his address, Dr. Alrajhi congratulated the graduates and thanked their parents for their support throughout their educational journey.
