Sulaiman Alrajhi University is preparing to hold the Student Research Day in its edition for the academic year 1447 AH, on Friday and Saturday 15 and 16 May, in the conference hall at the University’s premises in Sulaiman Alrajhi University City.

The event is one of the most prominent academic initiatives at University level, bringing together under one roof more than 100 student papers and works from a range of specialties, in a scientific event intended to highlight students’ research capabilities, strengthen a culture of innovation and knowledge production, and open new horizons for academic and research excellence.

The event is held under the patronage of the University President, Dr. Muhammad A. Al-Mohaimeed, who gives student research considerable attention within the University’s strategic priorities, in the belief that research plays a role in building national competencies and supporting knowledge-based development.

The Assistant Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Sulaiman Abdullah Al Sagaby, explained that preparations for the event have reached their final stages, confirming the readiness of the specialised judging committees to assess the participating papers against precise academic criteria covering originality of the idea, strength of methodology, clarity of presentation and expected scientific impact. He added:

“We look forward to the Student Research Day being a turning point in the student’s academic journey, through which the student moves from being a recipient of knowledge to a producer of it.”

The current edition features student participation from a number of leading Saudi universities, foremost among them King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, Al-Qassim University, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and Majmaah University, giving the event a national dimension that reflects the standing of Sulaiman Alrajhi University on the Saudi academic map.

The event receives submissions through two main tracks: the first covers research that is ongoing or published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, or that has reached advanced stages, while the second track focuses on research proposals and new innovative ideas, giving students the opportunity to turn their ideas into complete research projects presented before specialised scientific committees.

In terms of recognition, the University has allocated cash prizes worth more than SAR 20,000, distributed across three main categories covering the best oral presentations, the best scientific posters, and the prize for the best presentation or proposal of an innovative idea, with the value of the first prize in some categories reaching SAR 3,000.
