Sulaiman Alrajhi University has ranked fourth among 25 participating private universities and colleges in the index of university performance in university sport, according to the sixteenth annual report issued by the Saudi University Sports Federation for the 1447 AH season, up from fifth place in the previous season, in an achievement that reflects the development of its sports activity system and the University's growing presence in sporting competitions and programmes.
The Director of the Campus Life Directorate, Mr. Fahad Alajlan, said the results reflect the development of the University's physical and sports activity system and the widening participation opportunities available to male and female students, noting that work is continuing to develop programmes and tournaments and to enhance quality of life and the university experience.
The University recorded advanced results in a number of areas of sports activity: it came second among private universities in recreational tournaments, third in central activities, and fourth in internal competitive sports activity and in physical and recreational activity. It also led the private universities in international days for the student category, according to the report's ranking, with 11 participations.
In the first participation by the University's female students in the index, they achieved 2,810 points and took first place among private universities in internal training programmes, with 24 programmes delivered, in a step that reflects the widening participation of female students in the University's physical and sports activity system.
The index is one of the tools used by the Saudi University Sports Federation to measure and develop the performance of universities in physical and sports activity. It covers four tracks and 16 fields, and its data and evidence are subject to review and assessment by the Federation.
The University values the efforts of the Saudi University Sports Federation in developing the university sport system, and appreciates the contributions of its staff and students in achieving this result.
