Sulaiman Alrajhi University, in cooperation with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, organised a training course entitled “The First Eight in First Aid” for the University’s students and staff, aimed at developing their skills in dealing with emergencies and strengthening their ability to provide first aid and respond quickly to incidents.

The course covered emergency response procedures, how to deal with cardiac arrest cases, checking consciousness and breathing, cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED), as well as dealing with choking and airway obstruction in adults and children, and methods of controlling severe external bleeding.

The course also reviewed the principles of assessing the psychological state of the casualty, safety procedures at incident sites, and the importance of promptly calling for medical help and communicating with ambulance teams, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of the response during the first minutes and improving the chances of saving lives.

The University, in cooperation with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, has worked to provide a number of automated external defibrillators across its facilities, in order to strengthen emergency readiness and make the devices easier to reach when needed.
